The revenues from the sale of Cambodian specialties and artisanal products as well as Kampot peppers have enabled us to contribute to the financing of educational projects in Cambodia through our local partners, Beyond the Rice Fields and CKN Professional Training Center, since 2018.

Today, we are present at various events to propose the famous Kampot peppers.

Kampot peppers

It is considered one of the best peppers in the world.
It takes its name from the southern province of Cambodia where it is grown: the province of Kampot. They are also found in the province of Kep.
 
Cambodia's special spice, it benefits from an PGI (Protected Geographical Indication), a label that has protected this pepper since April 2, 2010.
 

WHAT IS THE FLAVOR OF KAMPOT PEPPER?

 
Kampot pepper has a fruity fragrance, with notes of pear and apple, subtly minty, with sublime hints of eucalyptus. It will quickly outperform all your other peppers!
As with all peppers, we find red, green, white and of course black pepper, with slight differences between each.

  • Kampot black pepper is the almost mature berry, it is powerful and subtle at the same time. With a deep and intense taste, the specialists find floral notes with a touch of eucalyptus and fresh mint.

  • Kampot red pepper is the fully ripened fruit, its peel become red. It is moderately spicy, it is nevertheless very subtly scented. It has fruity and flowery nuances marked by strong lemon flavor.

  • Kampot white pepper is actually a red pepper that we got rid of its pericarp. It is similar to black pepper but less pungent and irritating. Il has very delicate flavors of citrus, underbrush and herbs fresh.

  • Kampot green pepper is not exported, it can only be consumed on the spot. It is harvested before maturity, still tender, it is less spicy than black but has an extraordinary aroma. It is often eaten fresh, then it is preserved in brine.

HOW TO USE KAMPOT PEPPER IN THE COOKING?

 
It is certainly an exceptional pepper, but like all peppers, its use as a condiment extends to all dishes!
Like all peppers, it is essential to buy it in seeds and grind it at the mill or crush it at the last moment in order to take advantage of all its flavors and health properties. Be careful, if you overcook it, it will take on bitterness.

In general, you will use Kampot peppers in all meats, white or red, in all raw or cooked vegetables, starches, salads, marinades, dishes in sauce, all fruity desserts (pie, crumble, salads fruit) and chocolate (muffins, cookies, cakes, fondants, etc.). It works wonders in all fish, especially fine fish.
 
There is no dish that Kampot pepper cannot accompany.

  • black Kampot pepper is perfect for red meats,

  • red Kampot pepper will perfectly flavor strong meats such as game,

  • white Kampot pepper perfectly enhances seafood, shellfish, crustaceans, fruits, pepper sauces, béchamel,

  • Green Kampot pepper goes very well with duck, pâtés and terrine or vegetable dishes.

WHAT ARE THE HEALTH PROPERTIES OF KAMPOT PEPPER?
 
Here are some good reasons, in addition to its taste properties, to buy Kampot pepper.
